Oracle VM VirtualBox is a program that allows you to create operating systems on virtual machines, i.e. To use Windows programs on Linux. If a program doesn't work under WINE, for example, it will probably work in its native environment, Windows. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh and OpenSolaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), Solaris and OpenSolaris, and OpenBSD.

I have never used VirtualBox before. But a friend wants me to install VirtualBox on his Windows XP machine, so he can try Ubuntu. While installing VirtualBox (on Windows XP), I encountered a warning stating that 'The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP'. My questions are: Should I ignore this warning? Is it safe to install and run VirtualBox on Windows XP. Have you installed Virtualbox on a computer running Windows XP. Thanks...
